Aweke Teklemariam / General Manager * Aweke was introduced to the tourism industry 
through a family-owned hotel in the heart of Addis Ababa. From a young age he was responsible for the hotel as well as an adjoining restaurant. Ten years later he established Awura Tours. In addition, Aweke has a passion for fixing anything with four wheels. Therefore, he is also responsible for the maintenance of all of the Awura Tours vehicles, which he personally manages and controls. In his remaining free time, Aweke enjoys travelling in far away Europe.

Yohannes Aychew / Deputy General Manager * Johnny is an open, warm-hearted 
man in his early 40’s and the father of two young sons. Before Johnny was involved in tourism, he also travelled the world and worked for some years in Saudi Arabia. Upon his return to Ethiopia, he opened an Internet café. Since 2010 he has been a partner at Awura Tours and also participates in many tours himself, as a driver – just like in the old times when he drove a taxi for both locals and tourists through Addis Ababa and across the country.

Biruk Abebe / Driver * Biruk is a very friendly guy and a great driver. Always cheerful 
and smiling, he rises early ready to start the day’s tour in the SUV, which he has been doing for the past five years. Biruk knows all the roads, trails and hidden paths in Ethiopia. He knows the best places to eat and can find the most beautiful stops along the way. He always drives safely and carefully and is fully aware of his responsibility to his passengers – a pleasant travelling companion who is always willing to lend a helping hand.

Tesfaye Aragaw / Driver und Guide * Tesfaye has collected over 18 years of experience 
as a driver. It’s no wonder that he’s travelled to practically every corner of the country. Always open to new challenges, six years ago Tesfaye completed three years of training as a certified tour guide. This knowledge comes in handy for our guests who join this responsible family man who loves to travel to the people of the south.
